Our very first Twitter wallpaper comes inspired by a few of our favorite things: Deadwood, Firefly, and the new Role-Playing Game-meets-First-Person-Shooter, Borderlands. The wallpaper has a rugged, wild west feel — which is one of our favorite styles to play with — and it looks great at most resolutions, even really high resolutions. When we design a Twitter wallpaper, our process is very similar to when we are designing a desktop wallpaper; that is, we design with the highest common resolution in mind. Therefore, the wallpaper is 1920×1200 pixels. You can use it as a desktop wallpaper as well, if you want, but the empty space in the middle really adapts better to a Twitter (or possibly Tumblr or Blogger) background. We used a great, aged paper texture found on DeviantArt as a dominant feature of the wallpaper.
This background can be downloaded and shared freely for personal use under a Creative Commons license.

This is a theme we revisit often: wood textures. You can create anything from really rustic or wild-west-y looks to really sophisticated and dignified designs with different types of wood textures. For that reason, it’s always good to have some good wood textures in your arsenal that you can pull out when you need them. Here’s a few we found, and we plan on adding to this set fairly often. All images are high quality JPGs. You can click the thumbnails below for a resized version. When we add to any of our sets, later texture packs in the same series will continue naturally after the previous ones if you keep the directories intact.

This is a texture pack of textures taken from the rocky shores of San Simeon Beach, California. All images are high quality JPGs. You can click the thumbnails below for a resized version. When we add to any of our sets, later texture packs in the same series will continue naturally after the previous ones if you keep the directories intact.
